scary movie 1: haunted house, in progress

SHE, 50ish, is a successful painter -  primarily of landscapes but has shown her collection of portraits - who looks for an finds a cabin in the woods to serve as timeout getaway from divorce in progress and to perhaps rejuvenate her Art, having been stuck in stagnant for awhile. She is the mother of two adult children - gay son and daughter, mother of her two grandchildren.

Dream and subsequent random event makes her decision re cabin/location.

Hunter Yubaville and related

Hunter grew up in Yuba City, California, across Feather River from Marysville to the east, where his mother taught high school English. He and Olivia lived in two different houses before he left for college, at which point she moved to Grass Valley to be nearer to her parents, retired there. 

Yubaville is the title of the first of Hunter’s three novels, followed by Isleton, and Foglost, released a few days before we meet Tom and Wanda in scene one. Yubaville was preceded by Honda Knot: Short Stories

Hunter attended Yuba City High, played baseball, moved to Berkeley, graduated from Cal.
